California Governor Schwarzenegger signed a bill into law this week, Senate bill 94. The bill forbids anyone handling loan modification to receive any payment up front.  All payments are to be held until the completion of service. This bill comes on the tail of major frauds being committed upon desperate consumers facing foreclosure. 

If you are a Long Beach home owner seeking loan modification and anybody demands payment up front walk away.
