These women took the places of the male workers who were absent fighting in the Pacific and European theaters. The character is now considered a feminist icon in the US, and a herald of women's economic power to come. Rosie and her slogan were featured on newspapers, magazines and posters

When I sit back and think about the world it amazes me.  Civilization has been here for millions of years yet here we are living in a world where 150 years ago there were no cars, planes or any of the wonderful toys that we so take for granted today.  Heck I don't think there were computers 50 years ago.  

 

When I think of all the advances that mankind has made it blows my mind.  Each and every one of us plays a part in it in our own way.  

 

These women made a massive contribution to mankind, they deserve to be remembered forever.
