San Diego Fires - Brian BradySan Diego Fires - Brian Brady
Today our prayers go out to our own Brian Brady and his family. Brian was forced to evacuate his home in Del Mar mid-day yesterday. While they were able to secure a room in a Downtown San Diego Hotel, the hotel would not allow their small family dog. Brian left his family in the hotel and went to QualComm stadium with the dog, where he currently remains, hoping for a miracle. In the face of tremendous stress, Brian has managed to maintain steady focus and his unbelievable sense of humor. Wondering if his home will survive, he remains hopeful and ever - Brian Brady. He is a trooper folks!
The media reports that the fire is heading in to the Del Mar area. With over 1000 homes and structures already lost and another reported 5000 in jeopardy at this time, this remains a huge disaster.
I spoke with Brian again this morning. The victims at the stadium are frustrated, they want to do something, but cannot. Many would like to head out of state to relatives in neighboring states but are not certain what roads are open. They don't know if they have homes to return to and have no way to find out, at this time. This is heart-wrenching.
Brian reports that conditions at the QualComm Stadium are very good. There is plenty of food, blankets and cots are being distributed and the facilities are immaculate. A sense of camaraderie has fallen upon the throngs of people who have had no choice but to join together in a safe place.
Our prayers go out to Brian, his family and to our many fellow Californians who have been displaced by these tragic fires. http://www.longbeachrealestatehome.com/009054 Posted on October 23, 2007 11:03:11 by Laurie Manny Professional Group
